International Fired Up! Month began in 1997. Celebrated from Oct.1-28, this month focuses on motivation and enthusiasm, where people learn what gets them Fired Up! and incorporate that into their lives.

This month helps others get Fired Up with:
• seminars and workshops
Fired Up! Inspiration Circle gatherings
• Fired Up community events where people serve others and their
community.

The culmination of International Fired Up! month is the 4th Sat. in October, International Make a Difference Day which encourages people to volunteer to help others on an otherwise normal day.
This event was created by USA Weekend. Nationally, 62 million people volunteered in 2008 throughout the country in various capacities.

Each year, ten people are named the day's most outstanding participants. They receive national awards and $2000 each in charitable donations.50 Honorable Mentions and special Encore Awards are given out during National Volunteers Week in April. This event is held in partnership with The Points of Light Foundation and its network of 501 Volunteer Centers.

So spread your "Fired Up" enthusiasm, and start a "Fired Up!" month celebration in your community. For ideas on how to celebrate International Fired Up Month, click here
